A sofa is one of the most important purchases you can make for your living room; it is also one of the most expensive. There are thousands of options out there, making the decision just a tad bit overwhelming. There are a lot of great furniture manufacturers and you could spend hours (days even) going through their entire offering.

I've taken the guess work out of the equation. These are my top 12 favorite finds. I've used many of these styles in my design projects. #5 is making it's way into my #palmspringsprojectorc. I've used #7 for several homeowners and they have all raved about it. I actually have #9 in my own home - just in velvet. The leather options is soooo comfortable. Keep in mind that these styles are available in many different fabrics and even leg finishes. When choosing your ideal sofa, start with the shape. Find a comfortable silhouette that speaks to your style. Then, land on the right fabric for your space. Many retailers have dozen of upholstery options within each collection.

Which is your favorite?

Product Round Up: 10 Artfully Bold Rugs + Choosing The Right Size

Let me start by saying, I cannot recommend this rug more!

While many would argue that paint is the best way to transform your drab room, I tend to disagree. I am a big believer that your rug choice is what matters most. First and foremost, you want a rug that is the right size for your space. A "too tiny rug" can instantly kill the room's vibe.

One common mistake that I see homeowners make is choosing a 5'x8' rug when their room is really in need of an 8'x10' or larger. If you're overcome with rug size shame right now, think of it this way....Say the average room in your home is 12'x15'. If you shrink the furniture foot print to be placed on a 5'x8' rug, you're selling your space short.

Next, you'll want to pay attention to style. Now, not every room calls for rugs that are so colorful. If you have a seriously saturated or perfectly patterned sofa, you might want to go neutral with your rug. However, if your space is a bit too BLAH, I suggest you kick up the color and pull out a fun pattern. These ten rugs are sure to make an artfully bold impact in any space. Pay attention to price when selecting the right rug. Areas to splurge: living room, master bedroom. Areas to save: dining room, kid's room. Keep in mind, only you determine what is worth it. A $1200 rug is a splurge piece to some and savings to others.
